Bulldogs looking to repeat

MAHOMET (WCIA) --     The Mahomet-Seymour Boys Cross Country team is the defending Class 2A State Champions.

Head coach Neal Garrison has three of his top runners back from last year making them a favorite heading into Saturday's meet, but the Bulldogs know a repeat isn't guaranteed in a class full of competition.

"I know, confidence-wise, sectionals was pretty big for us," senior Riley Fortune said. "We're kind of relaxed. It should be, confidence-wise, up there still. I know we have the physical aspect."

"We know, kind of, what to expect now that we're really close with another team," senior Ryan Hodge said. "So, it'll be fun to kind of duke it out with all the other great competition at state."

The state meet will be held at Detweiller Park in Peoria Nov. 4.
