Illinois plays at Purdue Saturday in a key game for both teams. "It's going to be a battle. My guess is it will be a championship-type intensity level coming from both teams. We look at it as an opportunity like I'm sure they do too. I'm sure Matt would tell you, just like I would, it's great to be playing for those type of things this time of year. It beats the alternative," said Illinois head coach John Groce.
Mahomet-Seymour and Centennial will play Friday night at 7:00 in the Regional finals. The Chargers won the prior meeting between the two teams earlier this season. "They're a very good basketball team. Obviously they got us earlier in the year. Coach Lavin does a great job and they've got good players. It's not as much about pay back. It's us playing well. We want to be sound defensively. They have a lot of good offensive weapons. We want to take care of the basketball and rebound - just the basics that have got us to this point," said Mahomet-Seymour head coach Chad Benedict.
