Another report shows Illinois at the bottom

SPRINGFIELD -- It's another failing grade for the state. It's finances aren't getting any better. In fact, we're at the bottom of the barrel in a new report.
SPRINGFIELD -- It's another failing grade for the state. It's finances aren't getting any better. In fact, we're at the bottom of the barrel in a new report.

The group looked at several key areas for how states managed their money, including cash on hand, managing bills and overall financial ranking. George Mason University measured all 50 states across the board.

Turns out, Illinois ranks in the bottom five in four-out-of-five categories. Overall, we're 48th.

Other states at the bottom are California, Connecticut and New Jersey. Each has a history of poor financial management. Alaska ranked number one overall.
