Area woman Taking Action to provide school supplies

URBANA -- Getting kids ready to go back to school can be stressful for parents.
URBANA -- Getting kids ready to go back to school can be stressful for parents. But, one woman is raising money to take off some of the stress for King Elementary parents. Kelly Lamb is Taking Action.

She held a fundraiser Thursday and earned enough money to buy all 300 students new backpacks. It's the fourth year she's held the All You Can Eat Buffet at Piato Cafe.

People paid $5 for a meal. The money will go toward a backpack full of supplies like markers and pencils. The principal at King Elementary was so touched to see the hundreds of people who came to show support.

Lamb expects to raise more than $3,000. Any remaining money will go toward students at Prairie Elementary. The backpacks will be handed out to kids at King next week.
