CHAMPAIGN -- The off-week has given the Illinois football team a chance to go back to the drawing board a little bit and refine their offensive and defensive game plans.  Part of that adjustment could mean getting freshman quarterback Aaron Bailey more involved in the offense.

So far he has seen action in short-yardage situations where he can use his mobility to his advantage.  Bailey has six carries for 20 yards and two touchdowns this season, but he yet to throw a single pass.  With the Big Ten grind coming up soon, Bailey could be called upon to deliver in some different ways.

"He is really spirited in what he would like to get accomplished, and he's very spirited in making this football team the best that it can be," said head coach Tim Beckman.  "I think it will just progress after this first quarter [of the season].  We're going into the second quarter now.  You'll see that Aaron can become even more involved."

Illinois is back in action Saturday  (11:00 a.m., BTN) at home against Miami (OH).
