Bike Path Connects County

EFFINGHAM -- Cyclists are seizing an opportunity to connect a county using bike trails.
EFFINGHAM -- Cyclists are seizing an opportunity to connect a county using bike trails. Frank Brummer is the president of a group called TREC; "Trails Recreation Effingham County."
Brummer is an avid cyclist and believes in staying fit. That's why he joined with county leaders to build bike trails throughout the area.
They're not just for cyclists. Walkers, runners and anyone interested in the outdoors can use them. It's been a dream for many to connect the city of Effingham with the Lake Sara area.
Brummer says the first half of the project has been a success. This is what the trail will look like when the first two phases are complete.
So far, half of the county is connected. Finishing the Ryan Wolters Memorial Bridge will complete the first phase. Brummer hopes to finish the other half next year.
