MAHOMET -- Mahomet-Seymour will play for a Corn Belt title against undefeated Normal U-High Friday night.  A win would give the Bulldogs (7-0, 6-0) their first outright conference championship since 2005.  Mahomet-Seymour has the league's best defense, but the Pioneers (7-0, 6-0) have the conference's best offense.

"We're excited to be on the turf and take on a great football team in U-High," said head coach Keith Pogue.  "The community is excited.  We have a lot of people talking about our team, and that's exciting."

A win Friday night would do more for the Bulldogs than just a conference title.

"If we can get a win in this game, it'll give us momentum going into the playoffs," said junior quarterback Joe Kenney.  "And hopefully we'll make a run then."

Mahomet-Seymour and U-High kick off Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at Hancock Stadium on the campus of Illinois State University.
