Campus Invasion 2012!

CHAMPAIGN -- If you were traveling today, there's a good chance your destination was the University of Illinois.
CHAMPAIGN -- If you were traveling today, there's a good chance your destination was the University of Illinois. It's "Move In Day," and thousands of freshmen invaded Champaign-Urbana.

People had a tough time getting around. It took time to find a parking spot, and anyone who was hungry found packed restaurants.

It's busy, but fun and exciting for families. 8,500 freshmen are moving in from all around the country.

The day seemed to flow effortlessly, with a dump-and-go system at the dorm. Families drive up, dump their belongings on the sidewalk, and movers would help put them in a student's room.

Freshmen couldn't be more excited to start their new chapter right here at UI. Many streets on campus were one-way for the day.

Police urge people to stay away from the area if they don't need to be on campus. Places like Menard's and Wal-Mart are also packed, so avoid those places as well.

Classes start Monday, so it may be pretty hectic until then.
