Changes to disabled placards

CHAMPAIGN -- A new state law will save some drivers money.
CHAMPAIGN -- A new state law will save some drivers money. Vehicles displaying the new Secretary of State-issued yellow and grey placard won't have to pay parking meters. People with the standard blue placards will still have to feed the meter.

This all starts in January. Until then, the city will issue warning tickets to first-time violators. You must be re-certified for both placards.
