GEORGETOWN -- Murder in a small town was a shocking surprise. Next week, a new memorial will be installed at the high school of Jessica Roach. It's meant to make students pay attention.

Jessica was a freshman when she was kidnapped and killed in 1993. People around the area remember it like it was yesterday.

The high school's principal says some of the teachers were already here when it happened. But, the kids who attend school now, weren't even born back then.

When Jessica's family decided they wanted to put a memorial for her at the high school, they knew they wanted it to stand out. Her "missing poster" is etched in stone, complete with all the information about her disappearance and death.

The principal says it's very direct which is exactly the point. Students from Georgetown-Ridge Farm High School plan to pour the concrete base next week. It will sit under a tree which was also planted in Jessica's honor. Her family is planning another tribute which will benefit students at the school.

Jessica was just 15 years old when she was last seen riding her bike near her home. About six weeks later, her decomposed body was found across the state line in Indiana. Larry Hall was convicted of her murder in 1995 and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
