ILLINOIS -- The man arrested in connection with two murders in the state, could be involved in a third. Accused killer Terence Doddy was caught after being on the run for several days.

He faces charges for the murder of a Monticello woman as well as the death of his friend in Rockford. Now police have linked him to the drowning death of a teen nearly 20 years ago. That teen was Doddy's high school girlfriend.

According to police reports, she had run away from home. Months later, police found her body in the Rock River. Winnebago County deputies are reopening her case, but they're not yet calling Doddy a suspect.

Friends say, when the teen's body was found, they told police they believed Doddy had something to do with it, but there wasn't enough evidence at the time to make him a suspect.

WINNEBAGO COUNTY -- A high speed chase leads to the capture of a Rockford man believed to have murdered two people in Illinois. Terence Doddy had been on the run since Monday. The chase ended on Highway 81 in Rock County, Wisconsin.

Doddy is now in custody. It took multiple agencies from two states to catch him. Doddy was spotted by police in Rockton around 10 am, Friday. Investigators say he saw them and drove away. For an hour, police chased him, sometimes going 100 miles an hour or more.

Authorities say the chase ended with a crash. Doddy was taken to the hospital. Police believe he was camping in the area.

"He was familiar or stayed in the area and did some recreational activities, so I think when you're scared and feeling alone you go back to home and where you're feeling comfortable," said Lt. Pat Hoey of the Rockford Police. "Who knows what was going through his mind?"

Doddy is suspected of murdering Todd Hansmeier in Rockford on Monday. Then Tuesday, police believe he killed Tonya Bargman, of Monticello, at a rest stop in Sterling before stealing her car.

Doddy is still in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Along with murder charges, he also faces aggravated battery charges from a separate incident.

WINNEBAGO COUNTY -- A Monticello woman, Tonya Bargman, 44, has been identified as the victim in a rest area murder. 36-year old Terence Doddy is being sought for the attack and murder of Bargman at the Willow Creek Rest Stop in Paw Paw.

The attack happened Tuesday evening. Her body was discovered by a rest area attendant about 8:30 pm. Video surveillance shows Doddy driving away in Bargman's gray, 2013 Nissan Altima, license plate, BARGMN2.

Doddy was originally being sought for Monday's murder of his friend and coworker, 37-year old Todd Hansmeier. Hansmeier was killed by blunt force trauma to the head and neck in Doddy's office. He then allegedly poured gasoline on the body to try to destroy evidence.

Both men worked at Rockford's QVSM call center; Doddy for seven years. Coworkers say the murder may have been the result of a drug deal.

Doddy could also be driving Hansmeier's black, 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, license, 1 611935. An arrest warrant with a $1 million bond has been issued for Doddy.

Authorities say anyone who knows of Doddy's whereabouts, or that of either car, should contact police and not approach him or the vehicles.
