Amanda Porterfield has been the weekend Anchor and 10pm reporter for WCIA since November 2011.

She studied Sociology and English Writing at Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame,IN.

During school she interned with Harry Porterfield, and acted as the associate producer for his Emmy nominated "Someone You Should Know" series. Thinking journalism is something that may be worth pursuing, she interned again, only this time at WNDU, the NBC affiliate in Notre Dame, IN. From there, she was hired as a production assistant, and eventually started shooting and writing stories for the weekend newscasts.

Before coming to WCIA Amanda was a reporter/photographer/producer/editor at WTVC in Chattanooga,TN from 2008-2011.

Here at WCIA she focuses on in-depth reporting, and a series highlighting veterans in Central Illinois called, "Hometown Heroes" and is always looking for story ideas. Born and raised in the city of Chicago, Amanda is happy to be back in the Land of Lincoln doing the job she loves.

She volunteers with the C-U One to One Mentor Program and was nominated in 2014 for "Best Light Feature" from the Illinois Broadcaster's Association. Amanda was also featured as a Chambana Mom-To-Know.
