Another successful Ebertfest wraps

CHAMPAIGN -- For the 16th year, Ebertfest has come and gone. The movie festival came to a close Sunday afternoon. Thirteen different films were shown throughout the six-day event.

Famous directors, like Oliver Stone and Spike Lee, along with famous actors made appearances at the event. Bayou Maharajah was the final movie. The statue of Roger Ebert is heading to storage until it's permanently installed in May.

CHAMPAIGN -- He's one of the world's most famous directors, and he was here in town Friday night. Spike Lee made an appearance as he introduced his 1989 film, Do the Right Thing, to a sold-out audience at Ebertfest. Roger Ebert was one of the first major critics to applaud the movie after its release. He gave the film four stars.

Saturday night, another famous director, Oliver Stone, will appear for the screening of his film Born on the 4th of July.

CHAMPAIGN -- Director Spike Lee is coming to Ebertfest. He's joining a star-studded lineup for the 16th Annual Film Festival. The director is using the event for people to screen his movie Do the Right Thing.

Organizers say more celebrities want to be part of the event as a way to honor the legendary film critic. Oliver Stone, Steve James and Patton Oswalt will also join Lee at the festival. The complete lineup of movies will be announced shortly.
