MAHOMET -- A family is cleaning up what's left of its camper. It was destroyed by fire, and it wasn't the only one. Police say two campers were destroyed and two cars were broken into Monday night.

21-year old Adrian Foster was arrested around midnight. But his alleged accomplice is still on the loose. WCIA-3's Megan Brilley is live in Mahomet with more on the crime spree.

The fires were just blocks apart. The first fire was right down the street. The camper burned to the ground.

One family's is still standing, but you can see the inside is ruined, forcing them to say goodbye to some things they'll never be able to replace.

"My wife said, 'Our travel trailer is on fire,' I thought, 'Oh my gosh.'"

Wayne Frankie was visiting family in Rantoul when he got that call from his wife. She woke up to sirens in her front yard.

"It hurts, it really does."

Frankie's wife ran outside and tried to put out the fire with home extinguishers, but it was out of control.

"They talk about home invasions and stuff. You feel like you've been violated. That's how we feel."

The couple was planning on taking it on vacation.

"Probably this week, going up north to Minnesota or something like that. It definitely hurts."

Frankie is a boy scout director and uses the trailer to camp out with the scouts.

"Now we have to figure out if we can afford a replacement."

He lost a lot inside here. Some of it can be replaced.

"A small compact TV, a printer, a DVD recorder. Camping equipment, boots, unfortunately my camera."

But, others he says are gone forever.

"The bow that was in the trailer was something I had since high school. You can't replace that."

Frankie says all he can do now is move forward and hope the careless violence stops.

"I hope you pay for what you've done. Not only to us, but to our neighbors. I hope they realize what this has done to us and what we're feeling right now."

The calls were a surprise to the Mahomet Fire Department. It's not something it usually sees.

Foster will be in court in October. His alleged accomplice is still on the loose.

Similar crimes have been keeping police busy in recent weeks. Five cars were broken into in Philo earlier this month and a truck was hit with spray-paint. Champaign saw six cars broken into around the same time, and St. Joseph had two.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.

Update: 3:42 pm
MAHOMET -- A man is accused of spreading disaster through town. 21-year old Adrian Foster was arrested Monday night. He's accused of setting two campers on fire and stealing items from two cars.

Investigators say he wasn't alone. Police say two people terrorized the neighborhood. Police say the duo torched this trailer. It's a total loss, but it's not the only one.

Riverside Drive was the second call police responded to about 11 pm. The first was on Penny Lane. They found this trailer burned to the ground.

Arson is not common here and firefighters were surprised. Police say Foster and his friend also broke into two cars and stole items. No word how much they took. Foster's accomplice is still on the loose and authorities don't have a description.

MAHOMET -- One man was arrested on suspicion of burglarizing vehicles and arson. Investigators say 21-year old Adrian Foster is one of two suspects responsible.

Crews responded to two separate fires just before 11 pm, Monday. They were in the 900-block of Penny Lane and 800-block of Riverside drive. Camper trailers were burning and authorities determined the fires appeared to have been intentionally set.

While crews battled the fires, police responded to a burglary of a motor vehicle in progress in the 1200-block of Vista View Court. A witness reported seeing two people enter two separate vehicles in the area.

Investigators are working to determine if Foster is responsible for any other car burglaries in the area, as well as who the second suspect is.
