URBANA -- A Champaign man is putting the finishing touches on his latest work of art.
URBANA -- A Champaign man is putting the finishing touches on his latest work of art. John David Mooney invited people to the dedication of a park Sunday evening.

It's right next to the Urbana City Hall. A 33' steel sculpture is the most visible part of the project. People can use it as a natural clock during the day by looking at its shadow. Mooney said he's proud to share his talents with the community.

"I make art for friends so that's much more important to me than anything else," said Mooney. "to have a work which is for everybody in your hometown."

A fountain also contributes to the atmosphere. These works of art will soon be lit up with LED lights. Much of the project used recycled products.
