CHAMPAIGN -- It's been a week-and-a-half since an area bank was robbed, but police say the case remains a top priority. The Chase Bank, on University Avenue, was robbed Friday, July 25.

The suspect was caught on surveillance video. He's a white man with longer blonde hair pulled up in his had.

Police say, if you're ever in a bank when it's robbed, follow a few simple rules to stay safe.

Officer Ben Newell says, "Keep yourself safe. Don't put yourself in harm's way. If there's an opportunity to call 911, do so once the suspect leaves the bank. If you see someone approaching a bank with any suspicious behavior or clothing, call 911 immediately."

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
