Bill would prevent ticket quotas

ILLINOIS -- Police departments will have to look elsewhere to see how officers are doing.
ILLINOIS -- Police departments will have to look elsewhere to see how officers are doing. A bill on the governor's desk would prevent ticket quotas at any county or city police department. The bill would also prohibit the use of quotas to evaluate an officer's performance based on the number of tickets handed out.

Springfield's Police Department does not use ticket quotas for evaluations. The bill does let departments issue quotas for arrests, stops or other interactions. The governor has 30 days to decide whether to sign the bill.
