CHAMPAIGN -- Bowl for Kids' Sake is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Big Brothers, Big Sisters organization. It's been three days of bowling and fun for the "bigs" and "littles." WCIA-3's photojournalist Jeff Samson shows us why this group means so much to the kids and their mentors.

"You're going to do things that the two of you enjoy."

"We go hiking. We go skating. We go bowling."

"Spending time with your "little" is, it's, it's not hard. It's not work. It's fun."

"It's fun and I get to experience what it's like to have a big sister."

"It's just, it's someone to share an adventure with."

"When nobody's around, I can go out with him and do fun stuff."

"I always asked for a big sister because I have siblings at home, but I don't always want to be the big sister."

"I found a friend for life out of it. It's been a really good experience."

"He's a nice big brother."

"It's been awesome. I get to hang out with a big sister that I never had before."

"81% of the kids we serve later say that having a big brother or big sisters changed what they thought was possible in life."

"Really cool experience and everyone should be doing it."

CHAMPAIGN -- Bowl for Kids' Sake takes place this weekend. 30 teams were at Western Bowl to raise money for Big Brothers, Big Sisters. Every penny supports the program.

Currently, 200 kids are enrolled and there's a waiting list. One bowler says being a "big" had made her a better person. Organizers hope to raise $70,000.
