Brown shows improvement at Pro Day

19 NFL scouts from 18 teams were in Champaign Thursday for Illinois' annual Pro Day. Several Illinois seniors worked out in hopes of impressing the scouts before the NFL Draft in May. One guy who had a lot to prove was linebacker Jonathan Brown. He struggled in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, running it in 5.03 seconds. Thursday he improved that time, clocking in at 4.85. Brown also bench 18 reps at 225 pounds. He only did 16 reps at the Combine.
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - 19 NFL scouts from 18 teams were in Champaign Thursday for Illinois' annual Pro Day.  Several Illinois seniors worked out in hopes of impressing the scouts before the NFL Draft in May.

One guy who had a lot to prove was linebacker Jonathan Brown.  He struggled in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, running it in 5.03 seconds.  Thursday he improved that time, clocking in at 4.85.  Brown also bench 18 reps at 225 pounds.  He only did 16 reps at the Combine.

• LB Jonathan Brown improved on his NFL Combine performances in the 40 yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump, 3-cone and bench press. 

• WR Spencer Harris’ 60-yard shuttle time of 11.34 would have ranked 6th among WR and 9th overall at the 2014 NFL Combine  (Combine top performers)

• Many of WR Ryan Lankford’s performances today would have ranked among the leaders at the 2014 NFL Combine (Combine top performers)
- His 40 yard dash time of 4.36 would have ranked 3rd among WR and 4th overall
- His borad jump of 10’ 7” would have ranked 3rd among WR
- His 60-yard shuttle time of 11.00 would have ranked 4th among WR and 5th overall
- His 3-cone time of 6.76 would have ranked 10th among WR
- Lankford did not participate in the bench press due to a shoulder injury

• Many of TE Ryan Evan Wilson's performances today would have ranked among the leaders at the 2014 NFL Combine (Combine top performers)
- His vertical leap of 35.5” would have ranked 2nd among TE
- His broad jump of 10’ 4” would have ranked 3rd among TE
- His 3-cone time of 7.42 would have ranked 9th among TE
- His 40 yard dash time of 4.85 would have ranked 11th among TE
- His 19 bench press reps of 225 would have ranked 11th among TE
- His 20-yard shuttle time of 4.50 would have ranked 11th among TE

• OL Corey Lewis only participated in the bench press due to a knee injury
