ILLINOIS -- The state budget is now in the hands of Senators. The House passed a $35.7 billion budget Tuesday. Now, it's in the Senate where lawmakers are still working out the kinks before taking a vote. Republicans call the budget "cowardly" because it doesn't cut spending or deal with revenue. Republican Senators say they won't be surprised if the tax increase debate comes up during the fall veto session after November's elections.
