Busey offers scholarship

$1,000 available for students pursuing higher education

Champaign, IL – Busey is accepting applications for the $1,000 Community Reinvestment Act Scholarship for low-to-moderate income students in Champaign & Ford Counties who are pursuing studies at a college or university. The scholarship must be used during the upcoming academic year and can cover tuition, fees, books and supplies.

“Education is one of the most important investments we can make in our community,” says David Gillon, Senior Vice President & Community Reinvestment Act Officer at Busey. “Busey proudly supports the academic endeavors of students and has provided more than $160,000 over the past decade to help students establish a brighter future. We encourage all eligible students to apply.”

 

To qualify for the Community Reinvestment Act Scholarship, applicants must be: a resident of Champaign or Ford County for the past three years; a high school graduate or equivalent; enrolled or eligible for admission as a degree candidate at a college or university approved by the scholarship committee. Annual gross family income cannot exceed 80 percent of the median income which is $54,430.

 

The Community Reinvestment Act Scholarship is available in all markets Busey serves in Illinois – Macon & Shelby Counties, McLean & Livingston Counties and Peoria & Tazewell Counties – southwest Florida – Lee, Charlotte & Sarasota Counties – and Indianapolis, Indiana.
