CASA Training Session Starts

A training session for Champaign County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) gets underway.
A training session for Champaign County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) gets underway. Advocates speak for the more than 500 abused and neglected children who are involved in the county's court system.
They become the "eyes and ears of the court," working with the child and social service agencies to ensure the best interests of the child are met by the court. No specific experience is needed, but you must be 21-years old or older, and pass a background check.
Advocates spend 30-hours training. A new session starts today, courtesy of a generous donation from Carle. Training will be held at the Mills Breast Cancer Institute.
