NATIONAL -- The Centers for Disease Control suggest children ages 2 - 8 should be getting the nasal flu vaccine rather than a shot. Experts say it's 50% more effective in young kids.

Doctors at Carle Hospital say it's less painful for children since it's sprayed into both nostrils. Carle when through 3,000 nasal vaccines last year. This year, it's ordered more than 7,000 doses. The vaccines are on their way. Doctors hope to start administering the vaccines next week.
