Champaign County Salvation Army Falls Short on Fundraising

Changes are in store for the Champaign County Salvation Army.
CHAMPAIGN -- The Champaign County Salvation Army will  need to trim services, but it hopes to help as many people as possible.

Fundraising fell short by $45,000 over the holidays, so programs like the food pantry will have to cut back. Organizers say they don't want to turn anyone away, but they might not be able to give out as much.

Envoy Mike Fuqua says that's just one of the changes the group will be seeing. He expect staff hours to be cut, and maintenance needed this year just might have to wait until next year.

Fuqua says they'll be leaning more on the Salvation Army's two thrift stores in Champaign. Donations to the store or the food pantry is always welcomed.
