CHARLESTON -- Eastern Illinois University says it will open a new center to fight autism. It will be an extension of the Speech-Hearing-Language Clinic.

The center is meant to give priority to individuals with autism. It will also give students and faculty more time to focus on the disorder.

Planners hope to provide therapy sessions for families and classes for parents. EIU will launch a campaign to raise money for the center. It's expected to cost about $125,000.
