County Clerk looks to upgrade voting machines

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- New technology could make the voting process easier locally.
CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- New technology could make the voting process easier locally. County Clerk Gordy Hulten says his office is working on getting twelve new tabulators.

He says there's growing demand for more early voting sites, but voters were limited to where they could go because of the equipment. Hulten says the new machines are also more user-friendly.

Hulten says it could cost up to $85,000, with money coming from savings and grants. If the county board approves, the new machines could be ready in time for the March election.
