Court will hear appeal over lawmakers' pay

SPRINGFIELD -- Governor Pat Quinn is relieved the Illinois Supreme Court will hear his appeal.
SPRINGFIELD -- Governor Pat Quinn is relieved the Illinois Supreme Court will hear his appeal. House Speaker Michael Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton sued him after he stopped pay for lawmakers.

Quinn believes they shouldn't get paid until they find a solution to the pension crisis. Last month, a judge ordered legislators be paid immediately, plus interest. Quinn appealed.

The governor still isn't accepting his own pay. He earns more than $177,000 a year. He's missed three paychecks or around $42,000.
