DANVILLE -- Students will notice some new gadgets in the classroom this fall. The school district approved nearly $600,000 for new laptops and computers. It's all part of a plan to keep technology updated.

Technology changes every year and it seems once you get the newest item, something even newer comes out. The money will help keep the school district up-to-date.

Board members approved two lease agreements with HP Financial Services. The first replaces 271 desktop computers over the course of the next five years. The second replaces 543 laptops over four years.

It's a system they came up with to make sure technology stays a tool and not a distraction. Every building within the district will see some equipment upgrades. The money will come from the school district's budget.
