MCLEAN COUNTY -- The name of the man found dead in a pond on his property in rural Lexington has been released. 83-year old Darwin Punke was found Wednesday evening after having been missing most of the day. He'd gone fishing about noon, but never returned home.

Preliminary results of an autopsy show Punke died from drowning. The coroner noted nothing was found visually to indicate he may have suffered a medical emergency prior to falling in the water. Authorities are waiting on further toxicology tests as part of the autopsy.

MCLEAN COUNTY -- Authorities are conducting a death investigation. The sheriff's department responded to a missing person on a farm in rural Lexington about 8 pm, Tuesday.

Officials found a man, in his 80's, face down in two feet of water in a pond about a half-mile from home on the family's property. The man left to go fishing about noon and hadn't returned.

An autopsy will take place Wednesday to determine if a medical event caused the man to fall into the water. There are no signs of foul play. The man's identity is not being released at this time.
