MILFORD -- A family is starting over after fire destroys their home.
MILFORD -- A family is starting over after fire destroys their home. But, their lives were saved thanks to two delivery men Taking Action to help them. WCIA-3's Erica Quednau has the story.

The family says, without the heroes, things could have been much worse. The drivers were in the middle of their deliveries when they saw the fire. So, they stopped on the side of the road and ran inside.

"We were sitting in the living room watching TV and we heard stuff upstairs like it was falling and stuff."

It was the sound of their home crumbling to pieces.

"My whole living room is gone; part of the dining room is gone. So, there's not really much to salvage now."

But, Joleta Benjamin and her in-laws tried to save what they could They spent Wednesday morning sifting through the damage.

"We just lost everything."

They could have lost more.

"We looked over to the left in front of us and we saw there was a house on fire."

"Maybe the good Lord wanted them here at that time."

Tony Orozco and Kamon Elliott work for Ashley Furniture. A recent delivery put them in the right place at the right time.

"We were out in the middle of nowhere on a country road."

"There was a reason they showed up when they did, because I've never seen that truck come down this road."

The two men ran inside the home and helped save Joleta's husband. He has MS and has to use a walker.

"Me and Kamon just grabbed his shoulders, carried him down the stairs and he went on his way."

They also helped save some of the family's belongings and their pets.

"We didn't think of it like we were saving them. We were just trying to get people out of the house."

"We just did what I think, or hope, anyone else would do."

The Benjamin's do have two children. Neither were home at the time of the fire.
