CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- The weather has been pretty toasty the past couple weeks, but it's perfect for farmers and their crops. They're looking ahead to harvest time and it should be a good one.

Farmers say the heat is helping since there's been plenty of rain. The past three years have each had at least a little bit of a drought. But, so far, so good for crops in Central Illinois.

Farmers say corn and beans are doing pretty well. They were glad to get a little rain this month and now a blast of heat. It will help the corn dry out in time for harvest.

Farmers say they expect corn to be ready around the middle or end of September. Once the beans lose their leaves, they'll be ready to go too. So, even though we're not quite there yet, all signs are pointing toward a good year for crops.
