Farmers looking for rain

SAVOY -- The growing season is well underway, but farmers say they could use a change in the weather. Farmers say, when it comes to corn, they could use a little more heat and a little more rain.

They say crews got off to a late start planting because of all the wet weather earlier this summer. But, since then, rainfall has been spotty and they could use more moisture. This year is a definite improvement over last year.

As for soy, farmers say this year's crop looks good. More rain wouldn't hurt though. If temperatures would get up to about 88-degrees for a bit, it would help when harvest season rolls around.
