Father sentenced for role in school shooting

NORMAL -- The father of a student who fired shots in a high school was sentenced Friday.
NORMAL -- The father of a student who fired shots in a high school was sentenced Friday. Rodney Kinder pleaded guilty to unlawful delivery of a firearm.

He gave his son two guns, one of which was used in the shooting. The 14-year old freshman fired shots into the ceiling of Normal Community High School in September. No one was hurt.

Kinder was sentenced to 29-days in jail and two years of probation. He won't have to serve the jail time if he successfully completes the probation.
