ILLINOIS -- Gas prices are back on the rise and analysts say they'll only get higher. There's been a major jump in the past few weeks. The national average is about $3.43 a gallon.

In Champaign, it's about $3.69. A recent spike in oil is one reason why. The other is supplies are down because of the time of year. Many refineries are partially shutdown for maintenance to get ready for summer.

NATIONAL -- Temperatures aren't the only thing on the rise. Gas prices are the highest they've been since October.

Crude oil prices are rising and refineries are beginning to switch from winter- to summer-grade fuel. Those costs get passed along to drivers.

The past three years, pump prices have typically gone up about $0.30 during February. Peak prices for 2014 are expected to be between $3.55 - $3.75/gallon.
