"Hat Fake" sends Cliff to KU

Cliff Alexander, the nation's No. 3 recruit, verbally committed to Kansas Friday afternoon, but not before teasing Illini nation first. Alexander, while making his announcement live on ESPNU, briefly picked up the Illinois hat, only to set it down and ultimately pick Kansas.
CHICAGO -- Cliff Alexander, the nation's No. 3 recruit, verbally committed to Kansas Friday afternoon, but not before teasing Illini nation first.  Alexander, while making his announcement live on ESPNU, briefly picked up the Illinois hat, only to set it down and ultimately pick Kansas.

Alexander is the top-ranked power forward in the Class of 2014, and he would have been the premier piece to John Groce's recruiting class.  Instead Alexander will play for Bill Self and Kansas.
