Health Care Workers Rally at the Capitol

SPRINGFIELD- Hundreds of health care workers are fighting for their jobs.

Hundreds of people united in the Rotunda at the Capitol on Tuesday. Everyone protesting Quinn's plans for health care reform. He wants to overhaul the state's medicaid system. And that means dozens of programs will lose funding.

One of them being DORS, it provides at home health care for senior citizens and people with disabilities. If that gets cut, many will have to move to nursing homes. Workers we spoke to say that's not a good idea. They fear their clients wont get the care they need.

Home care services helps more than 100 thousand people love independently here in the state. There's no telling what cuts will be made and when. Lawmakers are responsible for figuring that out. The governor says the state will save about 2.7 million dollars from these cuts.
