ILLINOIS -- A report from the AARP shows Illinois has a high percentage of nursing home residents who could likely live at home to get the care needed. Nearly 27% of nursing home residents have low-care needs; it's the second-highest percentage of all U.S. states.

Senior Services of Central Illinois says the state could save thousands if those people were cared for at home. Illinois was ranked the 15th best state when it comes to long-term services and support for older adults, people with disabilities and family caregivers.
