K-9 officer retires after decade of service

CHAMPAIGN -- An area K-9 officer retires after ten years on the force.
CHAMPAIGN -- An area K-9 officer retires after ten years on the force. Nala, is a 13-year old Belgium Malinois. She had her last day Friday. She was the first bomb-sniffing dog for the University of Illinois Police.

Now, she has a chance to go home with her owner, Officer Troy Chew. He says he'll be sad to not have her in the car with him. The department will get a new dog which begins training next week. She'll also be part of the explosive division.
