GILMAN -- A Kid to Know just finished her dream project, mixing together her two loves; art and chemistry. Carlee Mayer jumped at the chance to help the new chemistry teacher at Iroquois West High School. He wanted a mural of the periodic table in the chem lab with the school logo behind it.

Carlee says, at first it was hard and really time-consuming, so she recruited some friends. The girls have been working through lunches and after school for several hours every day since Christmas break, but it's finally done; all seven feet by twelve feet of it!

Carlee says it turned out better than she thought. Carlee says the other cool part is her five younger brothers and sisters will look at it when they get to high school. Her artistic legacy will be there for a very long time.
