WHITE HEATH -- These Kids to Know are banding together to help their janitor who's sick. White Heath Elementary just hasn't been the same since Clayton Burke started cancer treatments.

The kids know they are expensive and they're also keeping their friend from being at school. So, the students wanted to do something to help.

They had a "Hats Off to Mr. Burke Day." Kids who brought in money could wear a fun hat. They raised about $1,000 to help with expenses and hopefully lift his spirits. They're not done there.

The kids also make cards every week for him while he's at the hospital in St. Louis. This Saturday, there will be a pancake breakfast at the Mid-Piatt Fire Department to raise more funds.
