LAKE MICHIGAN -- The US Coast Guard chopped its way through Lake Michigan to clear a shipping route. About 93% of the lake was covered in ice Saturday. It's the most since 1973. This is Mobile Bay, one of nine cutters in the Coast Guard's class of ice-breaking tugs.
