MacArthur's Ingram commits to NIU

MacArthur senior Devan Ingram has verbally committed to play football at Northern Illinois next year, agreeing to join the Huskies as a preferred walk-on. Ingram was a two-way standout for the Generals, playing both quarterback and defensive back. Northern Illinois head coach Rod Carey wants Ingram, who is listed at 6-2, 200 lbs, to play defensive back in DeKalb. Ingram chose NIU after receiving interest from a few Division II and NAIA programs.
DECATUR, Ill. - MacArthur senior Devan Ingram has verbally committed to play football at Northern Illinois next year, agreeing to join the Huskies as a preferred walk-on.  Ingram was a two-way standout for the Generals, playing both quarterback and defensive back.  Northern Illinois head coach Rod Carey wants Ingram, who is listed at 6-2, 200 lbs, to play defensive back in DeKalb.  Ingram chose NIU after receiving interest from a few Division II and NAIA programs.

NIU is coming off back-to-back 12-win seasons.  Last season, they narrowly missed their second consecutive BCS bowl berth after losing the MAC Championship Game to Bowling Green.
