DOUGLAS COUNTY -- A man who police say escaped a squad car by squeezing through a window, is back in custody. Illinois State Police arrested Jordan Scribner, about 8 pm, Monday, near County Road 1550 North and Illinois State Route 130.

ISP received a tip Scribner had been in Champaign-Urbana and would turn himself in if Master Sergeant Rogers, a family friend, was present. When he was taken into custody in Douglas County, he was still handcuffed from the prior arrest.

Authorities say Scribner was handcuffed and placed in the back of a cruiser when the car he was riding in was pulled over for a traffic stop Sunday. He was wanted on a warrant in Champaign County. He allegedly escaped the squad car by squeezing out the window while the sheriff's deputy was questioning the driver of the car.

Scribner was transported to the Champaign County Jail Tuesday morning. The State's Attorney's Office is considering further charges.
