Married couple found shot in home, one killed

BETHANY -- Investigators now say a husband and wife were found shot in a home in Moultrie County Thursday. One of them has died.

The shooting happened Thursday morning in the 1900-block of County Road 225 East. Police say a man called 911 saying he was shot.

When police got there, they found Michael and Denise Robertson both with gunshot wounds. 51-year old Denise was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur where she died at 9:40 am.

Michael was airlifted to an area hospital. The 66-year old is undergoing treatment at this time The Moultrie County Sheriff's Office and Illinois State Police are investigating.

No further information is being released at this time. An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday.

BETHANY -- Police are investigating gun-related death in Moultrie County. It happened in rural Bethany early Thursday this morning.

The Macon County Coroner says the victim was 51-year old Denise Robertson. Investigators say the incident happened at her home. Robertson suffered a gunshot wound. Investigators aren't saying how.

The coroner says she died at 9:40 am at St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur. The Moultrie County Sheriff's Office and Illinois State Police are investigating. An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday.
