Metra misconduct meeting cancelled

CHICAGO -- A meeting that could have sparked an independent investigation has been cancelled.
CHICAGO -- A meeting that could have sparked an independent investigation has been cancelled. The investigation would have looked into allegations made by the former director of a Chicago rail line.

Last week, the former head of Metra claimed he lost his job, because he refused to do a favor for House Speaker Michael Madigan. He also says he was given a $700,000 severance package to keep quiet.

The Metra Board was expected to vote whether to hire a former U.S. Attorney to look into those allegations. That meeting was cancelled and has not yet been rescheduled.
