DECATUR -- A multimillion dollar project could help protect the city from drought. The city council looked over an $89-million project Tuesday night.

It would dredge four sections of Lake Decatur and make room for 30% more water. Council members informally agreed to the plan. A final vote is likely next month.

DECATUR -- Droughts are almost expected in the city, but a new multi-million dollar project could change that. Water management wants to dredge four basins which are eroding. By cleaning them out, the project will reclaim 30% water capacity.

It would cost the city $89 million. City council members will discuss it at a meeting Tuesday night and vote on it next month. Members have previously supported the idea.
