New Attorneys Named for Murder Suspect

Two lawyers from Springfield will take over the defense for an Armington man accused of murder.
Two lawyers from Springfield will take over the defense for an Armington man accused of murder. Dan Fultz and Peter Naylor will represent Christopher Harris.
He and his brother, Jason, are each charged with more than 50-counts of first degree murder in the September 2009 murders of a Beason family.
Rick and Ruth Gee and three of their children were killed. A fourth was injured, but survived.
The new lawyers were appointed in response to a possible conflict of interest with one of the original defense lawyers Jay Elmore. Elmore filed a motion last month stating a serious conflict made it impossible for him to represent Harris.
According to Elmore, Harris made a potentially incriminating statement to a Logan County jail inmate who was also a client of Elmore's. The situation put Elmore in a position of being a potential witness.
