ILLINOIS -- The state is about to crack down on domestic violence.
ILLINOIS -- The state is about to crack down on domestic violence. The law classifies it as a felony if the defendant has a prior domestic violence conviction. It's even more severe if the defendant has more than one prior conviction. Police and those who help victims say the tougher penalties are long overdue.
