TUSCOLA -- The city can check another item off its to-do list to land a billion-dollar company. The Urbana-Champaign Sanitary District signed a contract to provide water to the Cronus Company.

It agreed to supply more than six million gallons to the company's proposed fertilizer plant. The district will make at least $2 million per year. Tuscola is one of two sites being considered for the plant.

DOUGLAS COUNTY -- A project which could bring thousands of jobs to Central Illinois might be delayed. Cronus Chemical is considering building a fertilizer plant near Tuscola. A recent report shows the project may not start until December 2015.

The company is also considering building the plant in Iowa. They say a decision about location could come in a few months. The project would bring about 200 permanent jobs and 2,000 construction jobs to the area.
