CHAMPAIGN -- An Urbana man is one step closer to honoring his late father.
CHAMPAIGN -- An Urbana man is one step closer to honoring his late father. Steve Burgess has been trying to get a building named after his dad for years.

This week, legislation to name the Green Street Post Office after James Burgess, Jr., has now made its way through the senate. Burgess was the first African-American elected to countywide office in Champaign County.

He was also a World War II vet. The bill still has to go through the house before it's a done deal, but Burgess is keeping his fingers crossed.
